pentium d 830 cache?

2 months ago i bought a new pentium D 830 (3ghz dual core processor).

i have browsed many sites and in all of those the cache of it is given as 2x1 MB

and even on the pack of that processor also its written as 2MB cache.

But when i saw that in BIOS its just showing 1024KB of L2 cache.

y is it like that. please clarify my doubt....

its 1 mb cache per core, so 2 mb cache total. your bios might just be looking at one core for those readings
