Driver help Needed!!
 

[B]I recently formatted my hard drive and re-installed an old version of win 98se as I did not have win me which was on there.

Since doing this I have managed to find some of the drivers for the hardware (graphics amongst others) but have been unable to get the following:

- USB (although my LAN comes through a USB convertor into the USB port and obviously works, it does not recognise my USB data storage device)

- Sound (I have a built-in sound card and have not changed anything since the reinstall)

I have installed Everest to check the devices I am running, below is the full report.

Please can someone help me find the correct drivers or offer any advice??!!

Thanks Caperjack for the help. I have downloaded the files in the links you gave and restarted the computer. It seems that it is trying to update something when I rebooted but to no obvious end.

Apologies for my continued ignorance in all matters computing but I would love it if you could continue to help me solve this

If it trying to update something ,it must be showing something on the screen to tell you what its trying to update . ,???
If not try this , ctrl+alt+del ,then processes ,what processs is using the most cpu usage !

When I say it was updating something, it gave the icon whilst booting up pf a drum with the 'updating system settings' message, or something similar.

I think it said it was updating a PCI device?

There are no new tasks in the task manager but cannot see the usage stats in windows 98.

Have I done the right thing to just install the documents from the links you gave or do I need to link the files contained to something?
