| iexplorer.exe error and restarting after going to some websites Hi ! I am recently having a problem with IE where IE is closed after displaying the message " iexplorer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program." This only happens whenever I try to access MsNBC news articles and when I try to log into yahoo games. Before the IE problem appeared, I use the hijakcthis log scanner and smitre.exe tool to get rid of the virus that hijacked my browser to an antivirus program website and made "You have a virus!" pop ups occur. I tried reinstalling IE v6 and that didn't solve the problem so I am not sure why I am having this problem. Please help. Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7 Scan saved at 6:03:16 PM, on 6/25/2006 Platform: Windows 2000 SP4 (WinNT 5.00.2195) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106) Running processes: C:\WINNT\System32\smss.exe C:\WINNT\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINNT\system32\services.exe C:\WINNT\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINNT\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINNT\system32\LEXBCES.EXE C:\WINNT\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINNT\system32\LEXPPS.EXE C:\Program Files\University of Houston\UofH VPN Client\cvpnd.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\EPSON\EBAPI\SAgent2.exe C:\WINNT\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINNT\system32\regsvc.exe C:\WINNT\system32\MSTask.exe C:\WINNT\system32\stisvc.exe C:\WINNT\System32\WBEM\WinMgmt.exe C:\WINNT\System32\mspmspsv.exe C:\WINNT\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINNT\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe C:\Program Files\AIM\aim.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\HijackThis.exe O2 - BHO: (no name) - {AA58ED58-01DD-4d91-8333-CF10577473F7} - c:\program files\google\googletoolbar2.dll O3 - Toolbar: &Google - {2318C2B1-4965-11d4-9B18-009027A5CD4F} - c:\program files\google\googletoolbar2.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Synchronization Manager] mobsync.exe /logon O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iTunesHelper] "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ares] "C:\Program Files\Ares Lite Edition\Ares.exe" -h O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Yahoo! | Re: iexplorer.exe error and restarting after going to some websites My IE browser (6) was doing that too, and only on certain sites. Come to find out it was because the flash plugin had somehow cratered. I reinstalled flash player 9 plug-in and voila!.....no more crashes. When I would click on the "details" of the error report window it would show Code: 0xc0000005 . It took me a good long while to find that Flash Player had somehow stopped working. That error drove me crazy. I am much better now. Here is where you get the Player http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ |
