| Re: Help my computer has an adware/spyware infection! I can't read the Hi-Jack files (no experience with that program), but I can offer you some help & advice. You think you have adware & spyware infections, so read what I've put below. I use several FREE programs to protect my PC. Here they are. If you don't already have them, download them, update them, and then run them. PestPatrol (Free Version) http://www.pestpatrol.com/ Spybot Search & Destroy (Free Version) http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/ Ad-Aware SE (Free Version) http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ SpywareBlaster (Free Version) http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html Spyware Doctor (Free Version) http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/ Zone Alarm (Free Version) http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload2.jsp?dc=12bms&ctry=US&lang=en&lid=staticcomp_za PC-cillin Internet Security 2006 (I purchased this one) http://www.digitalriver.com/v2.0-img/operations/trendmic/site/multi.htm If you don't already have one, you need to purchase a full blown secuity package such as the PC-cillin Internet Security 2006 software above. It includes both the needed Anti-Virus protection with automatic updates as well as a Personal Firewall. Norton (Symantac) and MacAfee both offer Internet security software packages as well. ZoneAlarm offers a full package too. But you need to buy one to use with the five (5) free packages I've listed above. None of the five free one's (first five in the list) look for viruses or protect you from hackers. They are just looking for pests which slow down your computer or may endanger your personal information. If you are shopping for any software to purchase, decide on the maker and the actual package by name, then go to their site to get a price base. Then go to http://www.viosoftware.com and you may find it a lot cheaper. You can also use Google's Froogle search engine at http://froogle.google.com/ by just typing in the name of what you are shopping for. It will look for the best buys. Good Luck! Let us know how you do. |
