Job Description: Business Analyst

Location: Hoffman Estates, IL.
Experience: 5+ years in IT (preferred)
Position Type: Permanent
Salary: Based on Experience
Travel: Less Than 20%

Description

The right candidate will act as a liaison between IT and business users to define requirements for enhancements and process improvements. This person will also become the functional expert within a specific area and support users by ensuring critical issues are resolved, ensuring users receive appropriate training and direction and that management receives appropriate business requirements and specifications to improve the application as business dictates.

Responsibilities

· Participating in projects to enhance the application and surrounding business processes:

• • Investigating and analyzing systems, methods and procedures
    • Driving change into the application and functional processes
    • Defining user requirements
    • Developing and reviewing detailed design
    • Planning and performing unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, conversion and implementation
  • Developing system requirements and determining the priority of enhancements and working with management in delivering enhancements and modifications
  • Participating in release testing.
  • Managing, reviewing and implementing configuration changes in line with policies and guidelines.

· Assisting with the development of user training for assigned areas
· Traveling on an as-needed basis to assist through critical processes issues
· Acting as second/third level support for the application and escalating issues to management as appropriate

Requirements

· Strong analytical skills
· Ability to effectively translate business requirements into system requirements
· Excellent communication skills (written & group facilitation)
· Effective management of tasks and activities
· Excellent Microsoft Office and/or Visio Skills
· Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
· Experience supporting ERP systems
