Can anyone suggest some simple miniproject in C in Linux Environment

hello friends,
can anyone send me a idea or a project in C and working in Linux Environment...
I am a beginner user of Linux..And wanna be good at it...Also i am having my project to be made in Linux which has to be done by 2-3 months...So plz do tell me a project definition/project idea which can be completed by specific time limits...

You may want to check out this thread in the C/C++ forum -- although the problems are more directed to standard C than to specific OS programming, I'm sure it will teach you quite a fair bit simply by writing them.

Also, consider expanding on these ideas if you want to use the Unix libraries more. Often a good Google search can reveal tons of ways you can use the libraries to expand capabilities of your application.
