FT Junior Java Developer Needed for Major Media firm in NYC
 

Our client, a major media company is in need of a Junior Java Developer for a full-time opportunity.
The client is the largest magazine publisher in the world reaching audience of 300 million people.

This position is in Business and Advertising Technology Systems .The person will provide software support and maintenance on an existing on line transactional system as well as reporting applications written in Java ,Perl and Actuate. In addition, this person will assist the senior software development staff in the development of custom web based applications for reporting and analysis of advertising revenue data.
The ideal candidate will have experience in business applications development with knowledge of web development, Object Oriented design, and bus application software development. Must know JAVA and database management. ( either Sybase or Oracle) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills is a must as this person will serve and a liason between internal customers and vendors. The person must posses a willingness to learn new business processes and technology.

I understand completely that I do not qualify for this position. However, I am wondering if it wold be possible for you to send me some of the actual work requests that the people in this position will get or have gotten, just so I can see first hand what it will be like once I finish my degree and get back into the real world. (military rightnow but working onmy degree before I retire). Anyway, I would send you back what I come up with. If it works then you have it to use if you want. If it doesn't then maybe you could tell me what/where I went wrong.


Please let me know if this would beacceptable or not. I am flying blind on this so I am not sure how much extra time or work this would be for you but it would be greatly appreciated on my end.
