SQL Server DBA

In this position you will work in a team environment and be responsible for installing, testing and implementing database management systems and related products. You will ensure that databases are tuned for optimal performance, performing problem determination and resolution for database related problems. You will ensure recoverability and adequate disaster recovery of databases. Perform the physical generation and definition of databases and providing advice on the logical design of databases.

Required Skills/Experience:

Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Requires at least 2 years of experience managing & administering SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005 databases.
Must have a thorough understanding of the Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003 operating systems.
Requires excellent verbal & written communication skills.
Must be flexible and able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner.
Possess a high degree of self-motivation, commitment and integrity.
Capable of working with minimal supervision.
Must have good human relation skills including the ability to work well with others and be a team member.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.

Desired Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years experience managing and administering SQL Server databases. Experience managing very large SQL Server databases (VLDB) in a high transaction volume environment. Application development experience including development of complex T-SQL stored procedures. Strong SQL Server system and SQL performance tuning skills. Experience using Veritas NetBackup with SQL Server to perform database backups and recoveries.
