| opensuse 10.2 dual boot to windows Hi everyone i just reinstalled my windows coz i really need it with for my apps, but before i reinstalled it i am dual booting it with my opensuse, now the problem is i am not prompted to the usual OS selection using open suse grub i think coz it is overwritten with my windows installation? im not that well versed yet with linux though, so can anyone help me how to get it back? thanks |

| Re: opensuse 10.2 dual boot to windows This is caused by Windows deleting the master boot record where grub resides, don't fret, your data is safe. but in order to get the installer back, you'll need to re-install grub. i personally use the super grub disk [link]http://freshmeat.net/projects/supergrub/[/link] once you're in linux, log in as root and issue the command grub-install /dev/<HD> replace <HD> with whatever your device is. once you reboot, you should have your grub back :) |
