I think the site looks nice however you need to shrink down the banner and work on the right side panel sometimes its just blank with nothing in it or mostly blank. I would also work on keeping the center section full of content but I have no doubt that you will have more than enough information to fill it all in with time.

Though personally having little interest in news sites, I found something of interest within seconds. The site seems perfectly fine to me, though I suspect you've entered an area of intense competition. Are you aiming for a specific niche of the news market? What is the ultimate aim of your site?
