| Search Engine Manager needed Law.com, a leading website for legal professionals, is seeking a Search Engine Manager to lead & manage the ongoing business requirements & product developments for our next generation search application. The Manager will work on both strategic & tactical levels of product development, product enhancements, new product roll outs, and success metrics. The candidate will work with the product owner and with business analysts, developers, QA, operations, sales and marketing departments. The Manager will be required to identify additional content to be served by the search product, do initial-level quality assurance on the result set, and report on the tool’s usage, top keywords, and ad sales conversions. The Manager will also perform competitive analyses to determine functional/feature sets in the marketplace and draft product requirement documents to support business cases for developing suggested features & functions. As our manager you will: • Synthesize key feedback inputs to develop/own product vision/strategy for both consumer facing products and backend infrastructure development. Use competitive analysis, user feedback, and site analytics data to develop long term product roadmaps. • Work with cross functional team to coordinate business operations across key platforms. • Work closely with Brand/Marketing team to analyze key market research/user segmentation data to ensure product roadmap is aligned with overall brand strategy • Work closely with development/QA/Project management teams to prioritize and guide new Product Development • Own release process • Help with strategic direction for infrastructure development initiatives. • Use analytical framework to evaluate/pursue new business opportunities (entrance into new verticals, business development deals, new technologies and site features. Qualifications: • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing consumer facing products together with a strong quantitative background. • Experienced in coordinating across functional teams • Ability to understand company objectives and prioritize projects around those objectives • Familiarity with SEM and SEO programs • Excellent analytical and communication skills • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, parallel responsibilities. • Experience with Endeca, FAST, or similar software platforms. • 3-5 years experience, preferably in the legal or publishing markets • Familiarity with WebAnalytics tools; HBX, Coremetrics or similar packages Qualified candidates should submit resume and cover letter with salary requirements to opportunities@alm.com for immediate consideration.
