Recomendations for a book on database design

I am a looking for recomendations for a book on database design. I have tried searching this site, and not found any good answers though I am sure this has been asked before.

My situation is that I start a new job in a couple of weeks and I want to brush up my skills before I start. I shall be designing and imlementing a database to hold large amounts of biological experimental data, as well as web based access method. I have done a course on databases at college (some years ago now) that included the first few normal forms (3 IIRC) and have implemented a couple of very small databases in the past, that were small enough that they did not require normalisation.

What books would you recomend I buy? Thanks in advance for any help.
