Whenever I use my home computer, which is not connected to the internet, in the first five minutes, a box comes up with "no connection is detected. To view your stored web pages offline, click work offline." or something like that. And then it does it every hour after the first one. I have done the registry thing with this:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WebCheck
And check that these two *String* keys are set to auto:
"LoadSens"="auto"
"LoadLCE"="auto"

I have done that, but it keeps happening. And also it say to delete "loadwc", done that too! I have a spybot program, and AVG 8.0, and nothing works!!! I recently updated my motherboard drivers using a program named Driver Detective. I had used this before, and without any problems, but this time, I had some serious ones. My first attempts to update resulted in my computer only semi starting; it would get to the Windows loading screen with the scrolling bar, then go black.

I managed to get Windows running again after some trouble and working with the Windows CD, but ever since then Windows has been acting oddly. It recognizes but is unable to load my wireless keyboard and mouse, claiming a fatal error loading the drivers. It also keeps running Windows Update, but is unable to actually perform any of the updates, stating they were unable to be loaded. I'm also having some trouble with the drivers for my network, notably the Wan Miniport (IP) and Packet Scheduler Miniport #5.

All of these problems seem to hinge on Windows having some kind of trouble loading drivers or updates. The computer has been working fine otherwise, giving me no undue problems. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what might be causing this, and what can be done to fix it? The mouse was functioning, I accessed the device manager, and saw that the keyboard was unrecognized. After some fiddeling around I mistakingly disabled the USB hub for the mouse. NOW, I can't do anything. I am using my personal Mac right now.
Sooo, is there anyone out there who can help me figure thins thing out. My resources are a bit limited in regards of getting other keyboards, etc.

This is a bit of a number cruncher, so here's a summary: My C:\Windows (XP) on a partitioned HDD states it is using 13 Gb out of 20 Gb.

There are three big folders only on C drive, and nothing else.
Program Files has 1,669 Mb .
Documents & Settings has 2,301 Mb.

But when I count C:\Windows individually, I find that the 55 folders (including hidden) total 3.3 Gb. Another 116 'loose' files on C:\ take up 16 Mb, 3.5 Gb in all.

The size of C drive is 20 Gb. Have I got 2 Gb free space, or 12 Gb?

Can anyone tell me what's going on? Would be grateful.

When I go to delete it, it pops up with things like "if you delete bootstat, your pc will not work right or it will crash, etc. It is a system issue." Whenever i try to go to some sites in firefox it hangs on "waiting for *.com" an wont go any further, this happens on google, hotmail, facebook and many more.

I've tried updating firefox to ff3, no change.
I also tried Opera but the same thing happens.
I've checked the hosts file in C:/Windows/system32/drivers/etc but that only has the localhost line.

However it does work when i go through those proxy sites but i dont want to be doing that for the rest of my life, even then javascript is blocked so i cant get onto hotmail. (You have no idea of the stress i went through trying to register for these forums!)
