Is there any software that will allow data to COM ports to be redirected to a virtual printer port?

Is there a way I can save the text printed to the COM port as a text file instead of actually printing it out?

After X pages, some scanners - like the Fi-5120Cdj - pop up this error. To make it go away, go to Control Panel\scanners and cameras
right-click the offending machine->select properties
under the 'device set' tab, clear the entry for Pad.

I was just wondering if anyone can give me a few ideas on how to solve a problem regarding my USB modem.

(Not sure what happened, but basically it just stopped working!)

I have a ZTE MF626 PP Wireless Modem. When I plug it into the USB port on my laptop, it isn't recognised. The safety removal icon appears in the task bar, but when I try to open the USB drive (and even explore), it isn't recognised (my laptop asks me to insert a CDROM).

I had some software (which installs from the USB modem device), which I uninstalled (in a hope of reinstalling it to see if that fixed the problem)... But now, since the USB modem device isn't being recognized, I can't reinstall the software.

I tried the USB modem device on another laptop, and it worked. I also put the USB modem "sim" card into my mobile phone, and it worked as well.

(The USB port still works, as I have plugged in a mouse to it, and it works fine)

Basically what I am after is maybe an idea of what happened, and how I can fix it... or what things I can do to try and find out what the problem is. I checked the Device Manager, and there are no problems there... everything is installed and working properly.

Can anyone help me?

The USB hard drives are seen under "Other Devices" USB as opposed to "mass storage" like the flash memory on this computer or the computer where they are working. On this computer, they get the "not recognized" error; however, I am pretty convinced it is because they are seen as other devices on this computer.

The power is listed as self powered with 0 mA. I mention this as elswhere there was some option to change the powering options, but I do not have that option.

Additionally, I have the value set to 1 as listed above.

I am having problems with my 1720DN printer. I can't get the printer to print. The paper is sucked in but no text is printed on the page that is spit out.

The printer has printed a total of 3,000 pages. I have tried replacing the toner cartridge and imaging drum with no luck. I have checked the path to make sure nothing is stuck. No luck. I can see that the toner gets placed on the imaging drum but it never gets transferred to the paper. I see little spots of toner on the paper but no real text.

I have tried printing the test page from the printer control panel directly and printing basic documents from my PC and other PCs with no success.

Any idea on what may be going on? Your help is greatly appreciated.

I've got a hp laserjet 3300 multifunction. Printer works fine, same as copier, but when it comes to the scanner nothing happens. The Paint Program does not recognize it and in the Pannel control no scanner appears. I've done some searching through Google and found out there are no files available on the HP home site.
Only the original CD has that driver necessary to run the scanner. Any suggestions? Has anyone got the instllation cd for this printer? Could you send me only the scanner file, will you?

the only differece between the 2 computers is that the one that the camera works on the firewire (IEEE) is called VIA - and the one it dosnt work on is called Texas instru. I am facing a strange problem in my PC lately.

The "My Computer" simply stopped showing "DVD Drive"...... So I checked Device Manager..... There it is showing " ! " symbol with the Dvd Drive.

I felt it must be some Driver issue, so tried updating it, but had no success. I also dint get any specific Driver CD with my purchase.

The strange part is that....

I was reinstalling my XP, the DVD rom worked perfectly during the first phase. And it started giving problem after the PC rebooted and XP was loaded for me to enter settings.

Please help !! :)

My computer will assign 2 drives when you insert into the USB port, and when you try to access the flash it will say "Please Insert Disk." This will show up in other computers.

I did get it to show one time, but I took it out of the computer without utilizing Safely Remove Hardware; don't know if this messed up anything or not. Any ideas how I can straighten this out?

When i switch it on the paper jam/out of paper light flashes, and when trying to print something new it tells me to close the cover, which it already is.

It's as if i need to "reset" the printer to wip out an existing job?

It was bought "AS NEW" from Amazon and the person who sold it is denying any problem existed.

ANy ideas???

The card is recognized, and drivers appear OK, but is isn't working with any USB devices. I am trying to isolate the problem to the Dell machine type (I have tried a couple of C540/C640s); the USB card type; or a bad card. Can anyone confirm if they are successfully using a USB 2.0 4 port Cardbus on a Dell C540 or C640.
