I'm writing login scripts for the different departments in our company as they all use different Printers, Network Drives, etc.

I've managed to get the code together to do everything I need except set the Wallpaper to the Dept Wallpaper (loaded on one of the network drives as s:\[Dept]\Images\Wallpaper.bmp).

Is there any way to do this? I've searched a few forums but haven't found anything that works.

PS We do not currently separate users into different security groups based on Dept, though this is a project slated for near future, so one script for all users will not work yet.

We have just invested in 8 new Windows 2000 servers, all of them hosted off site. We are also starting to deploy HP T5530 thin client terminals, running Windows CE for people who don't require PC's.

The new servers will go live in Dec 08 so therefore not in full use yet, just being tested.

We currently have an old server on site which is also the current DHCP server.

I am trying to set up a local printer (IP provided by the old DHCP server) for thin client users to print to.
All users of the thin clients will connect to the new servers by RDP. I have managed to add this same printer to the new servers so they can print through an RDP connection.

However, is it possible to set the printer up through the thin client so users can use local resources instead?

I have a small project to Synchronize 2 GALS for companies that have just merged. My brief is just to make users in ForestA GAL to be visible in ForestB GAL and vice versa. I have tried this using the IIFP utility and created MA etc. The trust between the two domains have been established. When I perform all the SYNcs in IIFP they run succesfully but the users are still not visible in either domains. What other steps do I need to do to make the make users visible. The containers that I choose as the Targets in the MA's are still empty. Please assist on how I can archive this. I am stuck now.

Currently, I am helping my office to buy a server to centralise the files, share of files and backup individual desktop and notebooks.

Our office which has a strength of 10 people is using LAN, so i guess for connectivity wise there's not much of a issue.

Currently, our office main issue is to backup every individual notebooks(wireless connection) and desktop(cable connection) in case there's a power failure or computer HDD crash and filesharing.

Please advise as to how to go about setting up one....Can anyone recommend me which server is worth of a buy?

Our Windows 2003 server has just been updated with to SP2.. and now we cannot connect to the server via remote desktop or even VNC.

What could the upgrade have done to cause this problem?

Greetings. I have little experience with SSL certificates so please bear with me.

I have read and found that normally multiple SSL enabled sites cannot be run in IIS with a single IP address. Here is what I tried and I would like anyone to tell me what will happen if I continue with this setup.

I have my original SSL enabled site up and running just fine on Windows Server 2003/IIS using port 80 for TCP and port 443 for SSL and a valid active SSL certificate installed. On the same instance of IIS I have another site that I have set up to use port 80 for TCP and port 444 for SSL using a self generated development SSL certificate. I have found that browsing to the second site using https://www.domain.com/ it brings up the original site with a warning that the SSL certificate does not match the URL in the certificate. That's fine, no problem there. If I browse to https://www.domain.com:444/ it brings up the second site with the usual development certificate warnings. I haven't rigorously tested the site but it appears to be working well.

What I want to know is if I am going to run into any problems on this server if I continue operating this way.
