This started a couple of months ago, probably and it has me baffled.

I primarily use Firefox 3 as my browser, but also have IE 7 installed. From time to time, if I go to MySpace (using FF) and then try to leave, everything hangs up for a few seconds, then all of a sudden, an IE window will open up and MySpace will start opening up in tab after tab. During this, the computer is totally useless, locked up. All I can do is stare at the tabs opening up in the IE window. The only way I can get out of it is either to just power down the computer (using the power button) or to bring up task manager (it will come up, but it takes a minute). I will end the process for IE, only to have it come right back. If I keep on ending the processes, sometimes I can eventually get it to quit, but more often than not, I just have power down.

Does anyone have ANY clue what this could be from? I assume it's related to MySpace in some way, because it's never happened with any other site. I have run numerous spyware, adware and virus scans since this started and never find anything.

Thanks in advance! :)

After trying numerous fixes, CCleaner, Spybot scan, full anti-virus scan, registry clean up and scan disk, the problem is just as bad.
I tried installing Firefox and the same problems occur. I have also ran a IE7 dll fixer, no fix. I have then uninstalled IE7 and reinstalled it, to find the same problems.

I re-ran the IE7 and got the following errors:
DllUnregisterServer in oleaut.dll failed 0x8004005

Hi, I am residing in Mexico and have been playing a Disney online game ( hey not just for kids!) and on June 3rd for some reason I have been unable to maintain a connection for more than a few minutes. I have tried all the troubleshooting techniques I can think of. Port forwarding and triggering only worked for a half day then the disconnecting began again. I did a trace to the Disney IP address and discovered a timing-out router somewhere in the US. My IT guys and I believe that Telmex is blocking port 6667 because it is a IRC site, and well they don´t like the competition. Of course it would be nice if Disney changed their port but they are as helpful as Telmex. I have also tried remote playing by taking over my computer in Toronto but the lag was ridiculous.

Anybody have any ideas for me? I really miss my game and my kids think life was better when I was obsessed with defeating the CEO.

I have a Dell laptop with both wired and wireless connections, routers, dedicated lines, Vista, and well anything else you need to know?

Thanks,

Hi Guys,
I really hope you can help me with this as i'm going mad trying to find an answer.
It's quite a story and i will try and keep it short.
I have a HP laptop, and the operating system is windows XP, and it works on Service Pack 1

I have been using the laptop and AOL for the past 6 years and have NEVER had any problems until last Friday. I always just logged on through the AOL software but when i logged in on friday it just stalled at stage 3 checking password, and wouldn't connect.
I phoned AOL to see if they could help and they ran me through a lot of checks, modem and connections and stuff. In the end i was advised to uninstall all aol software and re-install which i did but this didn't help. I phoned AOL again the next day, and they advised that they thought the AOL software was corrupt in some way and i should connect through DiallBB, which is just a bridge that establishes the connection and then use Internet Explorer to surf the net, which all seemed fine. ( Just to let you know that i never used to use IE before.)
However everytime i try and view ANY web page it looks like it is connecting to the website as per the info at the bottom left hand corner ( connecting to i.e. www.bbc.co.uk) but the status bar just seems to stop after 3/4 green dots and the page will eventually say ( after a long, long time) that this page cannot be displayed.

My connection is fine it's running a 6mb I have tried other tests, like pinging websites in the command prompt and checking the connection and modem but NOTHING seems to be working. Everytime i check a website for ideas of what to look for it doesn't seem to fix it.
I have deleted all the Internet temporary files and the cookies, but nothing.

I have been onto a few sites and ran my computer through numerous checks, TCP/IP deletion and re-establish and similair. But nothing.

I'm not the best with computers but i know the basics and i really dont know how to fix it.
If any of you guys could help, or point me in the right direct i would really appreciate it.
I just dont know what else to check or if i'm mising something very obvious. Also, it is very hard to know what to check when you cannot get on line.
Also, when i pinged any website i get replies back so i take it the connection must be fine.

Thanks for any help in advance!
