dell d610 wont turn on

I just purchased a dell latitude d610 second-hand, and it doesnt turn on. When i press the power button the power led stays lit for about 3-4 seconds then goes out. with or without battery in the machine i get the same result. Where should i go from here?

I recently decided to DL SP3 for my desktop. Not my shining moment, so here I am..

Im running an ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe mobo, AMD Athlon 4400+ processor on a system I built for myself a while back. Everything was great until I installed the above.

I am stuck in a continuous boot cycle, as the default XP setting is to restart upon crashing. When windows starts up, it goes into the startup options menu like it would if I was to hit the f8 key. It does not register my keyboard (G15, usb connection) - I dug up an old keyboard with a PS/2 connection and still no good. After the 30 seconds it starts up windows normally, just to crash after a brief flash of the blue screen..then repeat the cycle.

Being as how I can't arrow up to start in safe mode/get to recovery mode, I can not disable the "intelppm driver" which should, in theory, fix my problem.

Any suggestions?

Note: I have also tried the USB flash drive/secondary storage trick. I also have a copy of windows 7, but to put it on the same HD will erase my nearly full 750GB. I also have a new HD still in the box, but I want the contents of my current HD, so erasing/tossing it out is not in the equation.

anyone know what the s stands for in pc2-6400s, i have a laptop with 2x1gig marked s ,and i wanted to upgrade so i got the shop to order me a 2gig stick ,but it doesn't have the S , i installed it ,seems to be working ok,but didn't make any difference between the 2gig and running at 3 gig .is the S a important factor ,thinking maybe it just for sodim, the s chip is samsung ,the 2 gig i bought is kingston.will eventually get another kingston to make it an exact match

and yes Bob i did google it 10 different ways , ,one forum poster actually said it was singular and plural !

Hi - my dell user manual (for inspiron 9400) says that it supports DDR-II RAM up to 667 MHz, but the recommended upgrade on the Dell website is for 800 MHz RAM. Is installing the "too-fast" RAM going to be a problem?

Dead Gateway MT6706 Laptop

I have a Gateway MT6706 laptop that will not power up. I was using a replacement Targus AC adapter because the original one shorted out. The new AC adapter seemed to start shorting out as well, but if I held the cord just right, then it'd charge the battery. The cord finally stopped working entirely, so I purchased a new cord. In the meantime, the battery was drained. When I plug in the new AC adapter with the battery in the laptop, a red light flashes on the front of the machine. This is the light that usually pulsates a glowing pink/magenta when the machine is charging. When I pull the battery out and just use the AC adapter, the machine does nothing. I've tested the AC adapter on my HP laptop from work with a different adapter tip and it worked fine with the HP, so I don't think the new AC adapter is bad. Is it possible that there is a problem with the jack on the laptop that you plug the AC adapter into? If so, how bad is that to get fixed? Thanks in advance for any help!

hello i have this Hp Pavillion machine, its is somewhat new and when i was working on it one day, it froze, and when i try to turn it on it just beeps , a long beep for like 10 seconds, and another long after that and it goes like that forever unless i remove the power plug. i opened it tried removing each cables and RAM but the beep wouldn't stop form happening. It only stopped when i removed the cable that gave power to the proccessor . Can someone give me insight on what i should do and which part to buy t replace and get it working again?

Ok. I have a Acer Laptop. I don't have the make or model in front of me. I'm actually at work. The other night I had my laptop on and open. My kitten was niffing around. He walked across it, nothing new. Then he laid down next to it. I think he liked the warmth. So I X'd out of the internet so that if he touched any keys I wouldn't wind up on some crazy website. So he laid very close to the laptop with probably a little bit of his upper body and lower body leaning on the leftside of the keypad. I didn't think that he pressed anything because nothing was happening. But when I waved him away and tried to get back on the curser wasn't moving. I tried it with both the pad and a wireless mouse. I don't know if it's possible that the kitten may have leaned on a few keys that in succsession would cause the curser to become inactive. Please advise if you can.

I was formatting a brand new hard drive the other day and my computer froze up so I just shut it off. Now the new hard drive is not being detected in BIOS or in Windows. When I go into the BIOS setting and try to auto detect the hard drive, it window pops up that says "Auto Detecting Hard Drives..." I let the computer do its thing for about 10 hours and the window never went away and the hard drive was not detected. What should I do to fix this?

Bought Platinum MSI ATX mainboard, Geil 2GB Dual RAM, E6600 CPU, Raptor disk. Have had an interesting experience...

HISTORY:
PC started crashing, after a year the Raptor disk died (metallic sound and no boot/access), when I used then only 1 RAM chip at slower than specified latency, it crashed less. Eventuelly it crashed more. I replaced RAM, PC worked fine for a few days, then started crashing. I switched PSU (from 400W to 200W), it crashed less, but suddenly no more boot (just fan on/off sound). The old 400W PSU had a tendency to restart fan at boot, like a faulty engine start. No problem with "new" 200W PSU ("new" PSU I've used for 7 years with Athlon - never a problem).

Got new mATX mainboard, worked super for 1 week. Then new raptor died in the same way. Got new raptor disk. 2 days later, no boot with new mainboard. But then I switched RAM banks, so RAM chip 2 is in bank 1 at the moment and everything is perfect. BUT I expect this will not last...

Any idea of the source of the problem? Should I replace everything as maybe mainboard destroyed ram, and then the destroyed ram will destroy new mainboard and maybe CPU and PSU, so best to replace everything to avoid "infection" from faulty parts? :-/

Hello,
I had been having some monitor distortion issues on my Dell XPS m1210 so yesterday I downloaded the nVidia GeForce Go 7400 from the Dell support website to see if that would fix it. Now I have even bigger issues. Upon restarting, I was left with a black screen and am not able to do anything. No Dell screen to try launching the F8 or F12 tools. The hard drive light is on and the notebook sounds ok but the screen is blank.

I tried to get to the diagnostic tools by using the CD and no luck that route either. I also read that I could try reinstalling Vista. Is that my only other option at this point?

Any other suggestions?

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 social networking phone is Android powered and feature rich. How rich? Well, how does 1GB RAM plus 16Gb of flash storage and a stunning 8.1 megapixel camera that comes complete with a geo-tagging function strike you?

That's on top of the 4" (854 x 480, 262,144 color TFT) touch-screen and GPS, and WiFi, and Bluetooth of course. OH, and not forgetting the Qualcomm Snapdragon, a 1GHz system-on-chip that you can also find inside the new Acer Liquid phone.

Need help understanding GPU memory clock?

I am building a new cheap computer and I'm looking at two graphics cards

my question is i noticed that the memory clock on the XFX card is 900Mhz, however the HiS has 3600Mhz memory clock. I've been trying to do some research on this but haven't been able to find my answer. I read something about actual clock speed vs ?? (i forgot what it was called) clock speed. and that your actual speed is half of the reported?
If anyone could help clear this up for me I would greatly appreciate it,
also any advice on which one to get would be appreciated too.

Hello all, I'm putting together a cheap computer, here is a couple of the things i have,
a GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P mobo, AMD Phenom II X2 550 processor, and G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) ram.
My question is, I believe that i saw somewhere that the 550 can only do Ram at like 1333, is this right? I don't know where to look to see if this is the case or too much about Ram. Will my setup not run the Ram at 1600? Any help and explanations will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Stand By light on all the time

I was given an E-Machine with a ASUS motherboard (P4S533-MX). The computer will not power up and the green stand by light is on as long as the cord is plugged in. I tried clearing the CMOS. I put a new tested power supply and unplugged the CD Rom. Only the hard drive and two sticks of ram, mouse and keyboard are hooked to the motherboard. The off/on switch works. And the monitor is good. Any ideas. RPM

My computer is shuting down when it is using or not, when i enter Bios i see that:
System Overheated
I've ask for a friend to apply the thermal paste but doesn't worked.
Actually i'm at Summer (about 35ºC), but it also occour on Winter, last time i've cleaned my CPU is 2 months ago and last time i apply the thermal paste was 2 months too.
What can i do?

Motherboard: Asus P5QL/EPU
Hard Drive: 250GB Western Digital (IDE)
OS: Windows XP Media Center Edition 32bit
PSU: 600w OCZ SilentxStream

I been using this setup for about 2 years now and it ran games just fine.

About 6 weeks ago my old motherboard (Asus P5PL) gave out. I had to buy a new motherboard and ram (my old ram was incompatible with the new motherboard), I also reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows along with replacing them. Now when I play my games (such as Call of Duty 4 and Battlefield 2 titles) they run poorly even on very low or minimum settings. I used to run them at near max settings pretty smoothly before with my old motherboard. I tried changing my video drivers three times now, but nothing's changed.

Specifically what happens while playing Call of Duty titles is the fps will go up (70+ frames per second) if I look away toward a wall or floor, but when I look to where everything is at and all the action it drops pretty badly (30-50 frames per second), even on minimum settings. I run my games at either 1024x768 or 1280x1024 so it shouldn't be straining the video card that badly. But as said, I used to run the games pretty smoothly all the time before at near max settings. Every game has generally not so great frames-per-second compared to my old motherboard.

Side notes:
*DirectX is up-to-date.
*All my drivers are installed.
*CPU temps are 39c at idle, 55c while playing BF2, and 60c while playing CoD4.
*GPU temps are fine
*Windows is a fresh install.
*Not too many apps running in the background.
*Ran chkdsk fine.

Some people said that because I'm running one stick of ram that, that might be the culprit behind the lack luster gaming performance. I had multiple sticks of ram on my previous setup. Could two sticks in dual channel be that much of a performance difference than one stick in single channel. The frequency of the ram module is 667Mhz by the way.

Broken Medion laptop

I've got big problem.
Once I took my computer from upstairs to downstairs.
The screen went black and when I reseted it up It's screen showed bios info and it turned off. I tried lots of times to turn it on but everytime I tried the screen was only darker and darker and at the end If I'm not using light I can't see even bios info which shows for a half second and then computer turns off.
So do you know what happened ?
And my next question is:
Have you got any schemas which shows how can I get inside my laptop ? I untwisted all screws but I still can't open it.

Hi there, I am a newbie here and any help solving this particular problem would be apprecaited. I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 unfortunately was dropped a day ago. Know it wont work, when you switch it on its pwer like turns on for one or two seconds and then repeats itself, never getting anywhere near post. I have tried removing the battery and checking it just with the power adaptor, but this has not made any difference at all . I was wondering could the hard drive or more likely the motherboard have been damaged when I dropped it ?Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Reboots when playing games, moving large files, streaming video etc.

I have a rather annoying problem. My PC is rebooting a lot, without giving any BSODs. This happens when I'm moving large files, when playing certain games and sometimes when streaming videos (although this could be due to other reasons and just coincidence). There are no reboots when I leave the computer alone, and I can surf the web, watch videos on my HD, use Photoshop etc.

I recently replaced my power supply and ram due to the computer not booting at all. I had these reboot problems before this, but they were rather rare. For a week after replacing parts the reboots were also very rare, but now I can reproduce them very easily. E.g. the game Borderlands reboots in the main menu after a few seconds. First it would reboot after an hour into the game, then the time got shorter and shorter and now I can't play it. I've monitored the temps of various components, but can't seem to find anything overheating. The GPU goes to 60C+, but that's hardly fatal. I can however play less hardware-intensive games.

I ran Prime95's in-place large FFTs test and I immediately got a BSOD, but even though I had "automatically restart" on BSODs unchecked, it still rebooted, so I don't know what the BSOD was about.

Any guesses on what could be causing it?

So:
- Computer reboots when moving large files.
- Computer reboots when playing hardware-intensive games.
- Reboots might also be linked to video streaming.
- BSOD when running Prime95.
- Rebooting has become a lot more frequent over time (think of a curve with time on x-axis and reboots on y-axis).

- Recently replaced power supply and RAM, but problems existed before this.
- Cannot see anything unusual in hardware temperatures.

Well i have a SD card (sandisk SDHC card 4GBs ) and i use it to take phots with my digital camera.

The SD card worked fine on both pc and camera in the past
But yesterday when i took it out of the camera to load the photos onto my pc, windows gave me the following error : "Please insert a card into drive I"

The card cannot be opened from the pc but in the camera it works fine
Can you please help me find a way to save my photos because i have some really important photos in it.

The iPhone hacker yesterday posted a video showing an iPhone call on T-Mobile, and Wednesday is expected to post the code that made it possible.

Hotz, who goes by the hacker alias GeoHot, drew attention earlier this year when he posted "purplera1n," a so-called "jailbreak" for iPhone 3GS (OS 3.0) that lets the phone run code other than that expressly authorized by Apple or purchased at the AppStore. The hack was quickly made ineffective by Apple when it released OS 3.0.1.

While undeterred, Hotz skipped OS 3.0.1 when he went to work on blackra1n, which targets iPhones running OS 3.1.2 (including the third-generation iPhone Touch, but that one needs to be tethered). According to an Oct. 11 blog post announcing the release, Hotz claims that blackra1n can jailbreak an iPhone about 30 seconds.

His latest work, blacksn0w, will allow such jailbroken devices (running baseband 05.11.07) to be used on any GSM network. The 17-year-old told CNN in an interview that getting his iPhone to work with T-Mobile was what got him started on this project in the first place.

Laptop screen flickered black and white while shutting down

While shutting down my laptop before going to bed last night (technically this morning, heh), after I had hit Start then Shut Down, before the window (or whatever it's called) came up asking if I wanted to restart, shut down, or stand by, my monitor started flickering black, then it went back to normal, then it sloooowly faded to white, then back to normal, then flickered black again, and repeated like that--black, normal, white, normal--until the unit was shut down. While the screen was fading to white (seemed to be one pixel at a time, unlike the black which was a very quick flicker, but sometimes lasting 2-3 seconds) I could not move the mouse or do anything else until it "darkened" back to normal. Except for this monitor snafu, the system shut down normally. Also, when starting it up yesterday, before Windows even loaded the monitor started fading white and back to normal again, back and forth like that, and I was able to get to the login screen and log in, but it kept whiting out and I had to shut it down and start over again (no problems the second time). I haven't had any problems with it yet today (knock wood), but I've googled and I've come across people who have either the flickering or the fading-to-white screen, but not both. Anyone know what the problem could be? I hope my monitor isn't dying, I can't afford a new one. Oh, and the fading-to-white thing also happened to me about a year ago, but it went away on its own after a few weeks, and just came back again yesterday after about 12-14 months.

PC keeps restarting

It use to randomly restart on occasion but now it is doing it constantly to the point it won't boot-up past the Windows start-up screen.

It does not respond to the F8 key, so I can't start it in safe mode. I can get into the set-up screen but no changes seem to help because it just reboots and then resets the settings I changed.

BIOS won't come up on newly built system

I just built my own computer system using a Biostar MCP6P M2+ motherboard and an Athlon 1.8 GHz processor, I followed the instructions in the quick setup guide and the manual which i downloaded but the system will not boot into the BIOS, in addition the power light does not come on and the hard drive light comes on and remains lit. The hard drive is a Seagate Baracuda 250 Gig SATA. Any help with this problem will be appreciated.

Hey guys, I've got a problem with my monitor/display and I hope it's not a sign of the mobo going bad. My computer all of a sudden decided to freeze up, and upon restart, the monitor won't get a signal, the light stays blue. All the other components appear to be running fine, all fans spin, and the HDD appears to be running, there's just no display going to the monitor. I've unplugged all those cables because i think its just loosen but nothing happens. Also, for some reason, when it starts up, the DVD drive keeps acting like it wants to spin, and just keeps clicking away. I'm completely stumped, and hopefully this isn't a sign of the mobo going bad. Any help would be great appreciated!

Well firsty, sometimes when my computer gets unexpected restarted or the power goes out (whenever the computer is not shut down really) when I go to turn it back on my optical mouse doesn't work. So therefore It cannot trigger my moniter on. Which is never been a HUGE problem because it starts working again after a couple of hours.

But now it wont work at all! No matter what mouse I try in the USB ports, it doesn't work and the red optical light doesn't come on. So I can't use my computer! Please help me!!

When I turn on my computer, it would say NLDR missing Press ALT CTRL DEL to restart the computer. Does anyone have an idea?
I tried recovery tools but when it gets to 77%, it would say that the file is corrupted. I also tried to format the hard drive using usb stick, but the computer won't recognize it even though it says on the bios to boot up from this drive. I ran out of ideas, please help.
The computer is Acer ZG5 this model does not have cd/dvd drive built in.

I shown the system to laptop engineer. He suggested me to replace entire screen.

PC hangs/freezes

My PC boots normally under light load for nearly 1 hour if I keep my PC OFF for nearly 1 day. It may run smoothly for more than 1 hour but I never checked it. (I can play songs, movie, browse internet simultaneously).If I restart the PC, it freezes. And if I try to boot it again, it doesn’t boot.
I keep it OFF for 1 hour. After 1 hour it runs for sometime and freezes again. Mouse and keyboard also stop working. The only way to restart it to press cabinet button for 5 sec so supply to motherboard get cut off.
So if I want to run it for long time, I need to keep it OFF at least 1 day and I can’t restart it.

I checked RAM. IT is working fine.

My configuration is
AMD phenom x2 550 black edition.
ASUS M2N68-AM Plus motherboard
PSU: Xtech 450-24,Max 450w
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 7025/nforce 630a

Initial processor temperature is 36C which increases to 48C in 5 mins under zero load.

I have updated my BIOS version from 0701 to 0804.

So what could be the problem??

i use my laptop to go on xbox live with my xbox through ethernet, it was working well until one time i took off the ethernet cable and put it back in a while later. Since then, whenever i try connecting my laptop to my xbox it just wouldnt show that its connected (a network cable is unplugged). im not sure but ive heard elsewhere that it has something to do with ports, but im still uunsure whjat to do. While the competition is hard at work on a 100-core processor, Intel this week reported advances in phase-change memory (PCM), a type of non-volatile memory that is seen as a possible next-generation replacement for flash.

In a joint announcement yesterday with Swiss memory maker Numonyx, the companies said they had demonstrated for the first time the ability to "stack multiple layers of PCM arrays within a single die," significantly increasing the space savings and reducing power consumption related to the technology.

Memory cells consist of a storage element and a selector. Several stacked memory cells make a memory array. By stacking PCM-cell arrays, the companies have demonstrated what they call a phase change memory and switch (PCMS), a vertically integrated memory cell. "The ability to layer or stack arrays of PCMS[es] provides the scalability to higher memory densities while maintaining the performance characteristics of PCM, a challenge that is becoming increasingly more difficult to maintain with traditional memory technologies," according to the statement.

At the center of the advance is the Ovonic Threshold Switch (OTS), which in essence is a thin layer of glass that changes its resistive state depending on the level of current being applied to it. Researchers deployed the thin film in a new way, with the "two-terminal OTS as the selector, matching the physical and electrical properties for PCM scaling." With the compatibility of thin-film PCMS, multiple layers of cross point memory arrays are now possible, the report said, giving way to layered arrays that when combined with CMOS circuits, can be used for decoding, sensing and logic functions.

Hi, Perhaps someone out there could help me on this matter. This is a probelm that is driving me absoutely crazy. I would appreciate a
second or perhaps third opinion on the matter.

I have a HP 511 Tower, Windows XP Pro, HP monitor v50. For some reason, my monitor flicks on a black screen whenever I log off the
internet. I also can't seem to put it to medium 16 bits, when I do this and log on to the internet, It flips back to low 8 bit setting. As a result of this, The colors look garbled and weird on the screen. I have tried to go Medium setting when I am on the internet, but the computer flicks on and off like crazy so I have to log off the internet and start over again.I went and asked a person that is very knowledgable about computers about this probelm. I ended up updating the driver for intel graphics (82810E version). (I also noticed at the time that I had an another version of intel graphics on my properties (82810-DC-100) that was not running properly.) After installing this program, I refreshed the computer and set the settings twice (Safe mode and non safe mode). I still had the probelm afterwards. I asked him if there anything else I could do and he told me since I have a small monitor and it was considered a dinosaur by IT professionals, I should set the screen refresh rate at 75 or lower and that I should also think about upgrading to a new monitor (17" or higher). Since I had a old 17" monitor (HP M70) in my garage, I decided to try that and see how that went. Still the same probelm, but I did notice something: If I kept my settings at low 8 bits, then I did not see the black screen when it refreshed after I logged off the internet.

My question is this: Is it time for me to get a new monitor? If it's not a monitor issue, then please suggest any additional steps to
correct this PITA.

Acer Aspire5100 Laptop - Keyboard and mouse stopped working

I have an Acer aspire5100 laptop. I have been unable to use it going on 8 months now, because the mouse and keyboard stopped working. I have tried numorous things from resetting the BIOS from the motherboard (J2 switch) to loading with just the battery or just the AC power. Ive even tried unplugging the keyboard and mouse and re-plugging the back in; so far everything I have tried has not worked.

I must also mention that I cannot access the windows after the welcome screen or get into the BIOS using F2 (because keyboard doesn't work)....

Also, my dad had told me to totally take out the BIOS battery for 24hrs. He told me that he had a similar problem in one of his desktops. Do you think that doing so will solve the problem?

In the process of recovering from a system crash I lost the functionality of the F11 key during the boot process. Acer 1644 Not Booting

Is there anyone out there has had experience or can advise on the following problems I am experiencing with my Acer 1644. The laptop went into standby mode and blue screened, I have tried to boot up in safe mode with command prompt.

I would say before going any further the hard drive is split so there is a C: & a D:, the C: When the laptop tries to boot it tries going into the D: only. I have tried going into BIOS and setting the first boot device to CD drive, this too has failed to get the desired outcome. The CD drive does not appear to be recognised either. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to resolve these issues ?

Sony Vaio Black Screen

Hi there!

Last week my laptop stopped booting. I hit the ON button and I get the Power light, the battery light (if not on AC) and the HD light (for around 10 seconds) but the screen stays black. It would turn on if I left it off for a few hours but now it has gotten to the point where it never boots.

There are numerous fixes that I have tried. Applying pressure to the RAM, removing one RAM module, switching them around.. All to no avail. Sony Techs told me to remove the battery and AC cord and hold the power button for 30 secs and then reconnect the AC cord and try again but this didnt work.

The laptop is around a year and a half old.

Specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo T8100
Nvidia Geforce 8400M GT
4GB DDR2 RAM
HD 200GB
Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit

Can anyone help?

Fujitsu-Siemens Black Laptop Screen

Hi,

I have a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M1437G series Laptop and a few days ago while lying in bed my wife hit her head o the side of the laptop, near the graphics card. Since then, my sceen continues to go black after/during loading up.

Also, when it does load up the screen is only 75% full, and the text is really large. I've re-booted it many times and it still happens.

However, when I hit/press doen hard on the area where she hit her head - on one occasion it fixed the problem but this only lasted a few minutes before it went black again.

I'm not sure if its the graphics card, fan or anything else.

Please help!!!

I've decided to build a new PC, instead of just buying a pre-built. I'm in the process of doing some research to make sure I do it right...the first time. From what I've read so far, it seems to be that the motherboard is the most important decision to make...and to make first. I'm still going to do some more Googling (because I haven't been able to find a good explanation yet) but came across Daniweb, which looks to be a good resource for this question, which is:

Are there different types of motherboards (not just namebrands...but specs, etc.)?
How will I know if it's compatible with all the other components?

So far I'm thinking of going with an Intel Quad Core and an ATI Radeon Video Card as 2 of the main components...but no other specifics/decisions thus far.

virus that freezes laptop

It would appear I have downloaded a virus on another laptop that freezes at desktop and wont go any further. There is nothing on desktop only screen image. I realize this sounds like a repeated question, but so far 2 days of searching the web has gotten me no solutions to my problem.

First, the equipment I do and do not have.

NEW WD SATA-II HDD to replace a dead IDE drive.
Asus P4s800d-e deluxe mobo
DVD/CD burner
Floppy is owned but I don't have the SATA drivers on floppy disc, nor do I have a way to get them on it since the computer (desktop) that uses it is currently deceased.
Also, I have the XP Install disc, XP SP1 upgrade disc and XP SP2 upgrade disc, ASUS Vista recovery disc and finally Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade disc (family pack).

The problem is that I can get my BIOS to see the new drive but as we all know, the XP installer won't recognize it until I install the correct SATA driver from floppy...etc. I can't do the floppy thing, sadly. So, any advice, help, assistance...anything will be greatly appreciated.

One thing I wondered is if I can format the drive somehow, will the XP install work? The ultimate goal here is to get this machine up on Windows 7 with my family pack.

crashing e-machine

I have a T3042 e-machine, my computer will suddenly crash and go blank and make this alarm noise that sounds like an english patty-wagon and shutting it off doesn't stop it I have to unplug it and wait until it finally subsides. I thought it was because my old hard drive was full so I installed a 650 mg harddrive and it still will crash on occasion. I then got a small fan and installed it in the computer compartment-thinking it was over heating-It still crashes on occasion, usually when I have been on it for sometime and/or have numerous programs running. What does that alarm signify and is there a fix to my problem?

hi some one help me my flash drive (usb) is formated with most important data i want to recover that data i have also download a software which is recovering those file but not recovering that folders which were hidden plz any one help me how to recover hidden folders.

my rabbit recently ate my keyboard wire, so i bought a new keyboard. btw, this is in regards to my desktop dell dimension 5150, running on windows xp os.

anyways, here's the problem: i cannot type anything at the log in screen and i can't move my mouse. i CAN however get into the bios page where the keyboard works perfectly (least i know f2,f8 and f12 work!). Also, my mouse is working fine on my dad's laptop.

i've been looking for a solution for quite some time now, but i haven't found a problem like mine yet.. was wondering if anyone could help?

the stats are: New keyboard, USB port, (And yes, the keyboard works when i plug it into other computers)

i don't have a place to plug a ps2 connector in my desktop.
my mouse works fine on other computers, but does not work on my desktop.

my computer was working fine before the rabbit-eating-my-keyboard incident, but now with the new keyboard, i can't type anything in.

lastly, because i can't type or move my mouse, i'm stuck at my login 'welcome!' screen..

Amilo l7300 recovery on XP

I have an Fujitsu amilo L7300 on windows xp which is running very slowly. My thoughts are to return it to as it was when purchased by performing a recovery. I do not have any recovery or installation discs as none came with it. Can ayone tell me how I should go about this please? Please bear in mind that I am not that computer literate when you respond, so no jargon please. Thanks.

Computer is restarting

Hello. I have an E-Machine computer. Running Windows XP with SP 3. What is happening is the computer starts up as soon as I plug it in, the splash screen comes up then it shuts down and restarts. I don't have time to do anything, not even start it in safe mode.

This happened once before and we replaced the power supply and that seemed to correct it. But its doing it again.

Unfortuantely I don't have the hardware specs availible right now but if any of you want them I'll do my best to find them out. We have Pinnacles Blue Box hooked up to the computer and the appropriate video card for that. That much I know. I also know we have over a gig of RAM on board but I don't know the type or brand.

This is driving me insane as you can probably imagine and any help would be appreciated.

Foxcon 661fxme boot failure sometimes..

Good day.!

Maybe some of you guys has encounter this problem. Sometimes when i boot up my Foxcon 661fxme it wont power, sometimes it boot, but now its failure to boot. Ive replace brand new processor (intel celeron 1.8ghz), memory but still no luck at all. Is their any other task i forgot to do with it.?
