hi,sounds like you have other problems ,not sure what as you say you ran virus scan ,download ATF cleaner from Atribune and clean all to get rid of temp file s-it,just google atf cleaner ,

Hi, not a lot of info , what lead you to a bad power cord ,maybe a bad power jack,thats where the cord plugs in, did you try booting without the battery in .

sounds like the lcd monitor is gone ,or back lite if it has one ,reall you need to take or send it for repair ,hard to tell from here what it really is ,have you tried hooking it to a PC monitor

all you had to do was install new battery and set bios defaults and fix the time /date ! never heard of having to reinstall windows for that reason.
