My computer crashes daily. Sometimes more than once a day. Basically the screen freezes completely and there's just the sound of the cpu at 100%. Only way to get out of it is to reset the computer....

Is it possible for the drive to lose the ability to read DVDs yet still be able to read a data or music cd?

Looks like I've hit a wall with this situation. A search for drivers on the net showed that Delta have given up supplying drivers!

Both. If I put a DVD in you can hear the drive searching but it finds nothing. Double click on the drive in "My Computer" and it says the drive is empty.

If I put a CD in, say a music CD or a data CD it reads those fine but when I put a DVD in it just won't reconise them!

Any idea what this could be folks?

Didn't have my disc with my while I was over there but I did the rk files thingy again and all that was left in the log was those C:\WINDOWS\system32\dfrg.msc and C:\WINDOWS\system32\oembios.bin...

Just discovered what I foolishly accidentally deleted was "C:\WINDOWS\system32\oembios.bin: peC2"y)Q" and now it's in a folder named "!Submit" - :mad: shall i move it back to system 32?
