Maybe it has nothing to do with your system, just check you mouse and keyboard, make sure they are connected firmly :P

I once met a similar problem and Dani told me how to do, or someone else did, I can't remenber. And you can visit Microsoft's webpage for help, I found the method to let me uninstall IE there.
