bad memory would be the only thing i could think of of since the owners manual for your motherboard says if you want to utilize the dual-channel feature, to use banks 1&3, 2&3 or 1,2&3. run memtest...

uninstall windows blinds, then try to apply the theme. if that doesnt work, repatch the uxtheme.dll and then apply visual style.

check on the neowin.net forums for a uxtheme.dll patcher that allows you to apply msstyles without having to use stylexp. the patch is also on the stylexp site ;)

are you sure it freezes after that? i know that it will still show the different things it's loading for safe mode until it boots into safe mode. sometimes it takes a while.

you should be able to run norton during the bootup process of windows. put the cd-rom in the drive an bootup your computer, then follow the on screen instructions.
