bad memory would be the only thing i could think of of since the owners manual for your motherboard says if you want to utilize the dual-channel feature, to use banks 1&3, 2&3 or 1,2&3. run memtest...

are you patching in safe mode?

uninstall windows blinds, then try to apply the theme. if that doesnt work, repatch the uxtheme.dll and then apply visual style.

you dont need anything to run it. it should be a self executing program that patches uxtheme.dll that allows you to use msstyles w/o having to have stylexp installed, or running at all. you might...

check on the neowin.net forums for a uxtheme.dll patcher that allows you to apply msstyles without having to use stylexp. the patch is also on the stylexp site ;)

are you sure it freezes after that? i know that it will still show the different things it's loading for safe mode until it boots into safe mode. sometimes it takes a while.

yea you should be able to just use nero to burn stuff. the software that came bundled with your burner might be the problem.

might want to try this as well, restart your computer, then try to delete the file.

try this, pop the driver cd or floppy into the proper drive and go into the device manager and manually update the driver by letting it search thru the cd or floppy. i used to have this prob...

you should be able to run norton during the bootup process of windows. put the cd-rom in the drive an bootup your computer, then follow the on screen instructions.
