watch out for MS Word docs in your inbox. Someone has found a new exploit in MS Word and is using it to spread malware that uses a rootkit to hide its files.

firstly delelte the entry for [winsync] C:\WINDOWS\system32\wycqco.exe reg_run by ticking it in Hijackthis and select fix.

Then search for the file...

If anyone knew what it is then they could be a millionaire.. if spyware does noot clear after the obvious then it may be a rootkit by virtue of the results......

robbo, Icesword is for experienced users try Rootkit Revealer instead as this has a more user friendly interface.

Another way I caught spyware was to remove the Hard Drive and scan it from another...

turn off the PC, take the modem out of the slot. Boot into windows. Turn off put the modem in a different slot. Turn on the PC.

Did you do a search for the file on the PC?

The Bagle Virus deletes ccl30.dll. Get Stinger (http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/) and that will make sure you are free of the Bagle Virus.
