I would try deleting the connection, restart the machine, and then setup the connection again. Does your dial-up connection require some adware to be installed? ie: netzero.

You should still be able to share the printer with File and Print Sharing. If you can connect to the host PC for the internet, then it's just a matter of adding that service to the connection...
