YEs a system repair is the best way to go but fist make sure that you hardware is fine(hdd and memory) before,otherwise you might just end up doing it all over again and again!

Just to make sure,have you tested the memory and hard drives?try using memtest for the ram and seagtes hdd tester! let us know what you find!

Have you check the hdd?Random freezes and booting errors are most commenly caused by either bad sectors on the hdd or just plain hdd failure! you can even test the memory to make sure! let us know...

ok so normally when you try and setup from the xp cd and you have a sata disk, the setup wil tell you that it can not find a hdd on the system,so do you actually get to the pointwhere it does ask...

i have haad the same problem with torrents, so i started using Utorrent 1.61 and it worked, so hopefully it will work for you aswell

Hi there! When does it give you the message that there is no hard drive ? Are you booting from your Xp cd?? I would suggest you do this as from in windows vista!! Is it a sata or ide drive??

Hi there, have a look at Hiren.s boot cd at www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd , it has a great active password remover and the latest 9.3 version does support vista, i use it almost every day with clients...
