Yes- most definitely!! SEO is time consuming and tedious work. Some days I feel like outsourcing some things myself - particularly web clients who have extremely competitive (key-search phrase) sites.

I just noticed that Yahoo's homepage redesign frames nicely at 1024px. I grabbed a screen shot and it appears that the width is 952px (give or take a pixel)

Drop the point size of your text in the center boxes. Say if its 12px, try 10 or 11px. All your text is the same size and competing for my eyeballs.

Maybe punch-up the boxes a bit for more...
