I quite like IPB... it looks seem to look better than alot of vb skins. apart from this one.... obviously ;)

I help run a forum that uses mybb but it just doesn't seem as nice as vb or ipb... All the styling is also done in xml which is a bit of a nightmare.

You could do this with a forum and just let them post but it would have to have add ons such as news articles and things like that. It would also need real full time admins to look after it.

The thing is in some of those groups you can't actually advertise your site so putting it in your signature is the best thing. You may also want to put a description of some sort.
