I checked the control panel remove programs and the ask tool bar is now gone.

Yes I did it just like you said but I didn't check to see if it actually was deleted.
Also when I went to rescan with HJT a small window popped up that said something about the host being write...

Hello people, when I go to my favorites file and click on a stored favorite site the ASK. web site pops up and I didn't click on it nor do I use that search engine.

How do I get rid of the ASK....

Well we bought a new Dell laptop, had the geek squad at Best buy do thier optimization,spyware,anti virus install.

But I can't figure out how to start my web cam, get it to hook up to my dial up...

Still tring to fix this, I did a safe mode scan with Eqardo ,Spybot,SE, but still nothing fixed.

I still can't get in on MSN,or Ebay.
Now I also can not access any sites that I bank on or credit...

Well that got the windows error out, but I still must have problems in the PC because I still can't connect with MSN,Ebay nor will my anti virus software come back on.
