U might overburn some cd media, but that will gain u just a few megabytes, or can produce a coaster :)

Some Plextor burners manage to burn up to 1.3Gig on a 700MB media with their high density...

Yopp yopp, first thing to disable is the firewall. Always a good step if u got any network connectivity problems

depends on if you set it up right. Same is true for the Windows Firewall.
all i can say is that i never ran into problems with neither Kerio nor Sygate in regards to Fileshring across a network.

If that doesnt give any errors i would recommend to use the diagnostics tool of the HDD manufacturer, which also would give you the option for a thourough disk scan, and maybe even a low level format...

Some have, some dont.
I still recommend the use of a software firewall. But definitely not the M$ Firewall.
If u are looking for some reasonable products i would suggest either Sygate or Kerio...

Yepp, the windows bootloader will still be needed, no way around that.

Would do the following:

IDE0 new harddisk
IDE1 old harddisk

Install Windows on the new harddisk, once done...

Possibly a problem with the User Profile Hive that sometimes doesnt free resources.
