i use gnome, and i like its simplicity, although when KDE4 comes out..i will definately try it!

If you want video editing out of the box, i've heard that ubuntustudio is just for this case...also...

i forgot to mention that xchm is far more superior than gnoCHM....also is far more superior than the windows default reader...

So if you can install xchm, prefer it!

also if you don't like compiling appz from source, you may find easier to install gnoCHM...at least in ubuntu is installed by default{i think}.....
