I thiink you wil have to alter the registry but I cannot remember exactly which entry. It is one that deals with the file associations but googling registry file associations or something like that...

There are a number of good registry cleaners around.try www. Iobit.com.
Then remove the folder inwhich hte offending program is and then use the registry cleaner.
