I'm assuming that your cd/dvd rom drive worked before you reformatted your computer. Did you use this same drive that is installed right now to load an operating system cd to format the hard drive?...

Not sure of what it is worth, but it is definitely a reliable little cpu. I personally love the celerons from that era. I have a 333mhz that was overclocked to 450mhz. That cpu is strong and stable....
