I doubt you can do it with Google SiteMaps because you need to be able to run python commands to even use sitemaps.

Content is for getting your site high in the ranks. Meta is just for getting a description. To see if you have been listed on one of the major engine search for site:http://www.yoursite.com/

I doubt google will be "sold to someone" since it is a public company. Webcrawler (webcrawler.com) is my favorite meta search engine.

It depends on who your audience is... if it is 18 and below your traffic will go up (no more school)... I have a mixed audience and see no raise/drop of traffic.
