Hi,

I suggest you don't bother with fibre for connecting the PC's for various reasons.

1) users more likely to damage cable

2) you need to get networks cards for each PC with fible...

I had problems yesterday with IE7 - it would not connect to router, had to use IE6.

I have not seen any difference for last 20 years!!

The cables are different for 1 and 2 Gb but not 10 to 100Mbs, as far as I am aware.

I assume you are running XP, then I would put XP install disk in and boot from that so you reinstall XP. Just be carefull it does not reformat hard disk unless you have backed evrything up.
