You will have an option in the XP setup as if you want to perform a "Quick Erase" (taking around 2 mins depending on HD) or full format which can take 15-30 mins. I suggest using the full format...

Wait...so he installed XP into a different folder on installation? If he upgraded, then he can remove Windows ME via Add/Remove Programs

You can go into DOS mode and reconfigure the boot record, or reinstall windows :\

Do you have any popup blockers? If so this might be blocking the Flash Install POPup which would prevent you from installing flash.

Try upgrading to the latest Office 2000 service pack which you can find at http://office.microsoft.com

Hm, sounds to me like an error problem. I'd scandisk, virus scan, and even if you had time , defrag. Tell me this, have you recently installed any programs that you may suspect could have caused this...

Make sure you complety uninstall office xp before you upgrade to SE. Then try to install XP on the fresh SE installation.
