Nice Site, although it looks like a pretty bland install of phpbb. It could use some customization to really WOW to visitors.

I would suggest using JPG compression on the background images to improve their load speed.

I have been using php Link Directory (phpld) and I have been happy with the free version.

With phpld, it can be configured to require reciprocal links.

My suggestion is to give up on the php session variables.

Just create a sessions table in your database and then store the key to this session in a cookie or in a form variable.
