The C++ compiler itself (well, SOME compilers like VC):

#pragma message( "Hello, World!" )

You might compare the environment variables set up for the machines; or the properties of the dos shell itself (like, memory limits and the like).

You need some sort of loop to look at all the records and accumulate the total number you found. Something like
