You have a bad hard drive. When you get "Trying to save allocation unit" errors, that means some sectors on your hard drive have gone bad. Replace the drive.

The best way is to boot with 98 boot floppy and debug the HDD. then repartition then reformat. See if that works.

Try going into DOS mode and type "scanreg /C" Thay will take you computer back up to 5 days. It worked for me on several occasions
