hi ,did you right click on the desktop and go to screen resolution and increase it to something higher ,also did it have a cdrom to install drivers for windows

i took it apart and it has 3 slightly leaky capacitors that may be causing it or may have caused it to overheat and damaged it some how ,i will return it to enviro depot ,lol

Hi, I have a 4 yr old lcd monitor that when you turn it on it flashes the content of the desktop but that's all will not stay on the power switch light goes from green to orange/yellow ,any ideas...

bottom line is ,if your computer was hit by lightening ,it could have fried you video card ,and any other device in the computer ,including the ram and motherboard and actually everything

sound more like you video card is acting strange ,do you have a onboard video connection maybe ! that you could try ,if not i thing you will need to try another card to troubleshoot

i think you already know its dead ,maybe hook an external monitor to it to make sure that it's the screen and not the video adapter ,
then if that works you need to replace the lcd in the laptop...

I have never seen it tried or done this my self ,have had duel on a regular 2 port video card ,but not a laptop ,if you only have 2 vga cables you...

partly right, it connects to the motherboard, not the keyboard ,but you may be able[usually] to get to it by removing the keyboard.

i would think if you had a keyboard problem then yes you may need to take of the keyboard and check wire connection ,keyboard has little or nothing to do with screen working ,you may have a back lite...

all i can add is ,maybe something in the bios/or jumper on motherboard to turn off on board video or the card is bad !
jumper on MB is old way of doing it , not many boards do it anymore ! even...

hi ,start with taking the bios battery out for a half hr or so ,its the quarter size silver battery on the motherboard ,this will reset bios to defaults ! but i don't think you find any thing in...
