Have you plugged in an external monitor ? Then switched to it with correct function key ?

Have you tried contrast and bightness keys ? (Sometimes they are on side of screen)

Whilst external monitor was plugged did you try the function switch that switches between screens ?

Also have you tried brightness/contrast switches ?

Have you tried the recovery disk from Partition Magic, because when PM is installed and working the bootup is controlled by PM and therefore I suspect that the computer is trying boot up via PM.

I would take it to your local PC shop and have it checked. Don't use one of the big boys like PC W**** unless you bought it there and it is under warranty.

Hi

It sounds like a faulty power supply to me with internal battery now flat.

You need to get a voltmeter and check voltage at end of power lead that plugs into laptop.
