I would be surprised if it did work. I think that each key might be unique to each disc (for home users at least) - to prevent piracy. I might be wrong here though

just a quick thought, it might not solve the problem but maybe your laser on the drive needs cleaning. I would recommend purchasing a DVD Drive cleaner disk - worth a try! Hope this helps.
