Yeah, I did update that. The removal of Adobe reader solved it. Acrobat is ok, Reader was causing the conflict.

It appears that this might be the cause of the problem. I am testing these steps from removing and reinstalling Adobe Acrobat 8 as I write this. I will let you know how it turns out. Thanks so much...
