I use bitdefender internet security for the most part.

Is this effective, do i need spyblaster or some other type of anti-spyware programjust to make sure?

Definitely agree with that last statement. I mean come on, i would have done the same, except probably did a few things to him myself before calling the cops. Dirt bags!

Good to know, i have encountered a similar trojan through plugin install. if a site needs a plugin find what it is and go to the manufacturer site to download. Thats what i always do and its worked...

I suggest manually shutting off the computer (hold power button till powers off)
Then when the pc is booting Press f8 before the boot screen to give the option of safe mode boot, go into safe mode...

how new is you pc, maybe try updating drivers.

And try downloading a trial of bitdefender, and running scan with it. remember to disable avg before doing this or conflict could occur. I find...

ok, try running you pc in safe mode and running a virus scan with whatever software you use for security. To run in safe mode press f8 while booting (in the black screen before windows boots)
