You might want to try emailing the support guys at www.pcservicecall.co.uk and tell them what brand/model memory you installed to make sure it's absolutley compatible.

It's most likely the drives causing noise over your speaker line from EMF. The only ways you can combat this is by using digital out to a speaker set that has a digital port, i.e. Creative Inspire...

Check out http://www.anandtech.com/mb/ for some good motherboard reviews. They're generally full of techincal info and usually unbiased.
