Cards of that type sometimes have a sound device on them as well. If so, disable one or the other. Also, prob. cold be a IRQ and/or I/O conflict.

I'm assuming that your haven't disturbed any physical hardware connection.
This is either a "still missing" driver file or a specific tweak to your software settings.
