take cable from modem into WAN on the router. plug cable from router into switch, plug computers into switch.
Do all this with power off to everything

Start > Run > Cmd > ipconfig returns no information for the problem desktop PC.
and what is this info it returns also include info for other computers that are working

I've been doing OEM for 15+ ears now and its piracy plain aND simply.
OEM is the reason its so much cheaper then Retail, here in Canada the fines for piracy are steep.

I understand your wanting to save the XP License, but its probably an OEM Version for your eMachine correct?
If so the license dies with the computer, I can't help you its piracy...

check your model number on the router nothing comes up on Linksys website under the number you posted. Is it wireless?
