There is more to gaming than a motherboard. The processor is just as important as the gpu, as if it is to slow, it will become a bottleneck for the gpu.

Only thing I can suggest is to reset the bios by removing the cmos battery on the motherboard for a couple of minutes before re-fitting it. See if it works.
Repair the OS with your installation CD.

The only way I think you can save your files is by removing the HD and connecting it to another pc and copy the files over.
