The beeping on start up is the computer saying 'I cant use the .... device!'
The type of device it cant use is determined by the number of beeps.
ie 3 beeps I think means the video is not present...

without tech help don't know but it sounds to me like a timing problem on hte maoin board due perhaps to overheating or some 'sticky' memory slot; Have you got a soak test type memory program that...

try checking what the first boot device is in the bios setup. I suggest disable the floopy drive until you have done what you want, it sounds to me as though it is lookinig there for a boot system....
