do as suggested by Xlphos check your jumper settings..were you able to boot from your dvd drive or not? if you were able to boot then i suppose it could be on your OS..your mobo comes with the disc...

have you tried to load BIOS defaults? not really sure if this will help but sometimes it does..is your PC preloaded with the OS when you got it? or you install it yourself? if ever you installed it...

have you formatted or either parititon the drive? or you just install it? you need to partition and format the drive before it shows up in your windows explorer...here's how..start->settings->control...

try copying your files to which is not large enough and will not take time to copy...don't copy large files you might not...

i suggest you use dvd disc or either thumb drive.. no problem with external hdd but as said by Hughv must be careful..mishandling the hdd will loss all your data..

but if you're dealing with files...

the samsung sata hdd have you used it before or not?

hey, you should not alter the original firmware of your ipod..it might not be compatible..the worst thing u might corrupt the flash memory...better go back to service center and ask them to reload...

the red wire on your data cable should be in parallel with the red wire also on your power connector, if all the settings are correct then measure the output of your power connector it should be +5...
