What RAM do you have along with what Graphics card you use. As coolraj003 said, put ur specs on otherwise we are in the dark to your problem!

The best battery life i have seen quoted is 5 hours! But normally average battery life varies on age and make model of the laptop. Normally it is around 2/3 hours for an average battery life.

Have you checked the connection between the actual button, and the connecter behind it? Might be worth a check. Also run an anti-virus/anti-spyware scan just to check for any nasties.

RAM could also be a slight issue, but agreeing with Josh, it looks to me as if your gfx card is either faulty or you don't have the correct drivers installed.

mmmm, touch question. As long as the computer has good specs, does what you want it to do, and does it quickly, and maybe has a snazzy case, your cool factor will increase dramatically :P
