Just a FYI... (Clicking drives are bad things!)

If you just lost the partition table, there's a program called MBRWork that may be able to restore it for you.

vicec64, it's not an IDE floppy cable, it's just a floppy cable. IDE refers to hard disk technology. (Besides a twist at the end, there's also 6 fewer pins on a floppy cable.)

Perhaps new floppys use a slightly different circuit revision. XP perhaps looks for better PnP info or something...

Check all cables and make sure they're fully connected. (Simply press them in. If they don't move, they're completely on.) If it doesn't appear to do anything, I'd check the video card or the RAM.

What exactly did you do? Did you simply take the drive out of the one computer, and put it in the other, with the original drive still there? That won't work. One drive has to be set as "slave."
